Jetta John-Hartley

News in of another person who has taken a freelancer’s hard work and then played hard-to-get when it comes to handing over the agreed payment.

Jetta John-Hartley, sometime musician, self-described “arty farty” and clearly vigorous self-publicist (“famous” would be stretching it somewhat), employed a freelancer to do work for her, agreed the usual 30 day payment terms but when it came to stumping up the cash, suddenly becoming more than a little elusive.

After repeated sent and ignored emails, when she finally did deign to reply (after the statutory 30 day payment terms had elapsed) she suddenly thought she might need lots more extra detail to be sent to her to be able to release the payment, insisting on a breakdown of jobs performed yadda yadda yadda which her “legal team” had insisted she needed. Promise was also only to make “part payment”, what with it being Glastonbury weekend etc etc (which apparently mattered in some way).

Tents at Glasto have long since been packed up but there has still been no payment, and no confirmation of when it might be made either. Late payment fees have been added but it looks strongly like this one may be headed to the small claims court, costs of which will be added to the bill of course.

All in all then best advice is: Jetta John-Hartley, Freelancers Beware!
