Training for aspiring documentary archive producers.
News in from Grierson DocLab: their Archive Producers’ training programme is currently open for applications.
Building on the success of the first programme, Prime Video Pathway are once again supporting this training initiative to provide a ladder of progression for freelancers. Here’s what they have to say:
About the programme:
We’re seeking those with a passion for documentaries and archive who ideally have 4-6 years’ experience working in TV/film/online content production, whether in researcher, development, or production roles (or other) at production companies, to apply.
Eight successful candidates will get training, two 5-week placements, a mentor and more.
There is no upper age limit to apply. Candidates should be UK-based.
We are particularly interested in those looking to re-join the workforce because of a career break (where your work history could stretch up to 8 years), or for individuals looking for part-time/job share work opportunities.
We especially welcome those from under-represented groups to apply: disabled people, ethnic minority background, LGBTQ+ community, lower socio-economic groups etc. There is a focus in this second iteration of the programme on welcoming applications from those based outside London, and in the nations and regions of the UK.
It is completely free to apply for the training and there is no cost to participate in the programme for successful applicants.
Deadline to apply 5pm, Thursday 31 July 2025.
More information and the online application link can be found here.
We also have a webinar taking place on Wednesday 16 July at 6pm for people to ask questions and find out more.
