Roger Pearce passed away on 19th November 2022 in Qatar where he was working for ITV Sport on the World Cup. He was due to retire at the end of the year and the production would have been his last major event. He had been planning the technical delivery of this World Cup for many years. He was a true professional with amazing technical knowledge. Loved and admired by so many, not just in ITV but across the industry. A huge loss.

Roger was the person who made it all happen - whether he was on-site at a minor non-League ground or working across a complex technical operation such as this World Cup.

Anyone who worked with Roger enjoyed his company and couldn't help but smile when he was around.

I was very lucky to have met Roger in 1989 and later worked with Roger as his PA for many years at Meridian TV. We are all in shock and devastated and are thinking of his family and friends at this sad time.
