Phillipe Martinez - avoid!

Phillippe Martinez is a name that many freelancers will know well, but not remotely in a good way.

It is well overdue for this particular individual to make an appearance on the Watercooler list of ones to avoid, given the number of people who have worked for him in the past who have found themselves with nothing to show for their efforts once filming has wrapped.

It is a sorry catalogue of failure and his most recent project - "City Girls" is no exception. After stringing along freelancers and suppliers for months on end, Martinez has once again walked away with an unfinished film and a massive pile of debts. True to form it seems, given that Martinez once spent 6 months in a French jail for fraud.

Martinez has last been seen in the Caribbean island of St Kitts, planning to make a raft of films there. If he should pop up back in the UK, the message is clear - avoid him at all costs if you want to get paid for your work.
