Mad Dog 2020 - an update

EDIT 1st Oct 2024 Mad Dog are now hiding behind a couple of new names: “Somebody” and “Cinextra”. So be warned if either of these companies offers you work or seeks to sell its services to any unsuspecting production company.

To reiterate, Mad Dog still owe thousands of pound to Supporting Artists across the industry and are showing no interest in paying what they owe. AVOID THIS COMPANY, WHATEVER NAME IT HIDES BEHIND!

Casting website Mad Dog 2020 has now developed quite a reputation for failing to pay the artists they represent, many of whom who worked on shows like Made in Chelsea and Call the Midwife.

Numerous of these freelancers are owed thousands of pounds of outstanding fees and it appears that the company has now started going out of its way to make life as difficult as it can by refusing to pay anyone unless they go to the extra step of taking out a court claim, win that claim, get judgment awarded and then threaten the company with bailiffs. Only then, after delaying that process for as long as they can, will the company pay up what they owe.

Except now it appears that they won’t even do that as, when they do eventually make a payment, the company is now refusing to cover the late payment fees, interest and court costs that are also due, making their clients start the whole process up again in the vain hope that people will just give up and go away.

Charming behaviour by the people who are currently running this revolting company, including Graham Beswick, Krissi Mcilquham (Kristin Mcilquham),Alan Jacques and Rosena Robson.

So egregiously awful has this company been that it seems the Department of Business and Trade has now shown some interest in their activities and are mounting an investigation to see if their behaviour has strayed over legal lines.

And to that end, they are seeking anyone who might be owed money by the company (or has been) so they can build their case. If that fits you then they are asking that you send your complaint to eas@beis.gov.uk so they can keep a better track of the number of complaints coming in.

The more people who can do this, the more chance that these chancers will face the consequences of their shitty behaviour. Well worth doing right now.
