John Pavlakos fails to pay his cast and crew…again.
Producer John Pavlakos has struck again. The man with the worst reputation for non payment of his workers in the business (see here and here) has made another film. It’s called “Heroes and Villains” (no prizes for guessing the real villain of the piece) and yet again he has bad news for the cast and crew, as evidenced by his recent email to them:
Dear reader, I’m sure you are already ahead of the game here, in terms of what he has to say next:
He’s speechless! And – it seems – yet again moneyless!
No surprise of course to any of the many who have worked for this man before, but the cast and crew who worked on this particular film will almost certainly be new to the experience of working for him (anyone who has had the displeasure before is unlikely to have taken up the opportunity to do so again).
The email goes on in similar style but the long and short of it is – no money, but hey, he absolutely promises/swears/affirms/guarantees that at some point in the far distant future, when he reaches the end of the rainbow, the pot of money will be so overflowing that he will be able to pay everyone in full and no doubt throw a party on his yacht with free oysters and champagne for all and…etcetera etcetera etcetera ad infinitum.
Please don’t be that person who thinks this man will ever change. If you have been offered a job on whatever new film this individual dreams up next, please don’t read this and think “I’m sure it’ll be different this time”. It. Will. Not.
John Pavlakos does not pay his workers. He hasn’t in the past, he isn’t doing so now and he won’t do so in the future. It is the way he operates, as the numerous CCJs piling up on his company’s doormat bears ample witness.
Avoid this man like the plague. He does not pay his bills!
