John Pavlakos and Savvas D. Michael. Freelancers Beware.

For anyone who might have been hiding under a rock for the past five years, here’s an important warning about two individuals - John Pavlakos and Savvas D. Michael: both should be regarded as utterly toxic in terms of their involvement in the film production industry.

The list of issues is long, but the most salient, egregious and noteworthy is that every time that these two make a film, freelancers who have worked on its production have been left unpaid for all their work.

This is not a bug, it is a feature of their working practices: it happens every time, and it really needs to stop. The only way of achieving this is for all freelancers to take a wide berth around both and either of these two and spread the word as widely as you can if (as can safely be assumed) you want to receive money as a result of your professional labours. In that way, they may run out of crew and suppliers to exploit in the future.
