Heidi Lynch. Bone Vault Inc.
Passion project. Two words which should depress the soul of anyone who might expect to be paid for their work (pretty much every freelancer).
Heidi Lynch, of a company called Bone Vault inc, has a “passion project”, one which she is so passionate about that she wants other people to help fund it with their labour, so you can share the passion she feels. She has a job for a Runner to work in Staffordshire for a (presumably legal) number of hours for £100 with (and here’s the pretty loathsome part) £20 thrown in for use of their car - mileage not covered - for the whole shoot day.
£20. Which is unlikely to be a sum of money sufficient to cover even the cost of the petrol, quite apart from all the other expenses involved in running a car. Still, it is a passion project so no doubt the runner in question can fill the tank up with some of that passion.
Heidi (“Open to Work”) is also looking for some other runners for the day (no car needed, phew) but these won’t be getting the £100 a day for their work because they will be entirely unpaid.
No wait, not entirely unremunerated because they will get “food covered” and also “credit given”. Great.
Heidi Lynch could well do with exchanging some of that passion of hers and tooling up with a little bit of compassion instead, some for those who have bills to pay and think that all workers should be treated with dignity by being paid for the work they do. And the cars they provide.
