Grierson DocLab: New Entrants training programme.

Returning for the 14th time, Grierson DocLab: New Entrants is for UK-based 18-25 year olds with a passion for documentary and factual TV who are new entrants to the industry. The programme aims to equip up to 12 successful trainees with the knowledge, connections and work experience to launch their doc careers.

  • No prior TV/film experience is required, and candidates don’t need to have studied film/TV to apply either.

  • Successful candidates get intensive training (in person and online), a trip to Sheffield DocFest, a paid work placement at a production company, a mentor match, career coaching and much more.

  • They especially welcome applications from those under-represented in the industry (whether from a working-class background, based outside of London, disabled people, from a global majority ethnic background, LGBTQ+ community etc).

  • The training programme is completely free to apply for and there is no cost involved in taking part in the programme.

  • Deadline to apply is Thursday 19 February, with a webinar to find out more taking place Monday 19 January.
